Bad News: Man convicted of killing his father arrested for arson | News
WESTLAKE, OH (WOIO)- A 30-year-old Westlake man arrested for trying to burn down his own garage.
It happened Thursday around 10:30 a.m. on Woodpath Tr.
Police say Daniel Jung poured an accelerant around a cluster of propane tanks and aerosol cans and lit it. A witness observed him acting suspiciously and called 911. The garage was moderately damaged; no one else was home and no one was injured.
Westlake, Rocky River, North Olmsted, and Fairview Park FDs responded to put out the fire. Jung was taken to St. John Medical Center after making suicidal threats.
Jung was convicted of involuntary manslaughter and felonious assault after running over his father, Yong Jung, and injuring his mother, Jemma Jung, with the family car in the driveway of this home in 2004.
Daniel Jung is on post-release control for those convictions.
